spareleg games studio

A one-person games studio.

Games made
by hand.

Small games, built slowly and finished properly. Spatial games for headsets, puzzle games for phones, and a few odd things in between.

Games

Fist Flight

A hand-tracked spatial arcade game for Quest.

You stand still. Your right hand flies the drone. You punch through one disappearing ring at a time, using your left fist as a hard brake to snap into the angle — while the timer tightens, and lasers and mines start showing up on your actual walls.

  • Hands No controllers. Your hands are the whole interface.
  • Space Your real room in mixed reality, or a built VR space.
  • Make Build your own layouts and play them.

Quark Forge

A glowing physics puzzle game for Android.

Drop pairs of glass quark orbs, pop three of a colour, and set the chamber off in chain reactions. Every mechanic is a real idea from particle physics — gluons, antimatter, the weak force, the Higgs field — turned into something you can pop.

  • Worlds 80 levels across eight worlds, then endless.
  • Daily A fresh chamber every day. Keep the streak alive.
  • Physics The real science behind every mechanic, one line at a time.

Screenshots, the physics and the press kit

Also in progress: a couple of strategy games built from images and sprite animation, more puzzle games for phones, and later a series of dioramas for Quest.

Studio

Spareleg is a one-person games studio. The work runs from hand-tracked games for standalone headsets — the kind you can only really make now that the hardware can see your fingers — through to strategy and puzzle games that want nothing more than a screen and a good idea.

Everything here is built and tested on the device it ships on, which is slower and produces fewer, better things.
